Diamonds and £175,000 worth of 22ct gold seized from criminals up for auction

More than £175,000 worth of 22ct gold seized by police from criminals will go up for sale this week.

A selection of Rolex, Cartier, Tag Heuer and IWC Schaffhausen watches are also going under the hammer at Wilsons Auctions.

The luxury items, which also include diamond jewellery, have been taken by law enforcement and government agencies across the country, under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

More than 150 lots, including items seized by Merseyside Police, will be up for grabs online on Thursday, July 29.

The timed auctions will start from 12pm and will time-out from 12pm on Friday, July 30, giving potential buyers a 24-hour window of opportunity to bid online.

Wilsons Auctions say lots include a 18ct White Gold 7.15ct Pear Shaped Diamond Solitaire and a pair of 18ct White Gold Cultured South-Sea Pearl Diamond Earrings.

Wilsons Auctions’ government sales coordinator, Michael Streight said: “I am delighted to see the variety of luxury goods going under the hammer this week, we haven’t disappointed with over 150 high-value luxury goods going under the online hammer.
